Wisdom teeth?

I have a partically erupted wisdom tooth and i wnet to the doctor cause can't get into the dentist he siad it is 3/8 erupted and has an infection.his say that my gum may need to cut what does he mean and if i have to have it removed will i knocked out for it?

They will give you anesthesia which will numb you.I felt high but your awake through the whole process.They will slice your gum to take out your wisdom tooth.
Reply:erm usually they give you an injection in your gum to remove a wisdom tooth! so your awake but cant feel anything!
Reply:if they are removing a wisdom tooth they will most likely put you under anesthesia for it. some places dont, but i would not recommend being awake for it. if the dentist you use doesnt use anesthesia try an "oral surgeon" for the procedure since they do put you under.
Reply:Your tooth is cutting by growing (babies cut teeth means teething)


If their is not enough room for the tooth it will need to be pulled so not to give your jaw trouble.


I'm sure the doc will numb the area before pulling it.
Reply:If he has to cut the gum its not that big of a deal it


will heal back up again. Since it's infected you have


to do it right away. The local anasthetic injected around


the area is so effective you really won't feel a thing,


and the actual extraction will probably be done in less


than a minute by a skilled doctor. Talk to your doctor


about whether you should be knocked out or not.

Reply:No you can have oral surgery under local anaesthic. Wisdom teeth removal hurts a bit afterwards. but you shouldnt be worried at all they do them every day
