Wisdom teeth.?

I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled in a few years, and it scares me! Give me the gory, painful details please!

Wisdom teeth.?
Don't stress about it, the worse thing that could happen to you is a dry socket, which can be painful but is fixable. I got mine out two years ago and had no problems. I was out for the entire procedure and was kinda groggy for the rest of the day, but other than that I had extremely minimal swelling and no bruising.

Seriously, if you're still waiting a few years for it, then put it out of your mind until then, it's really not that big of a deal.
Reply:In a few years!? Girl why have u started to worrry about it now?

In any event...They do hurt..I got put under and was somewhat aware of my surroundings. The dentist gave me a ricky martin cd to listen too...(yeeeeks) Thank god he put me under!!

And i was swolen like a chip munk ...but ate lots of ice cream and banana baby food! Yummo!
Reply:call me sadistic but I loved the procedure. I had a really great oral surgeon and I was totally comfortable in his office. At the consultation he gave me the little "you might not wake up, it could be infected, you could die" speech and I was a little scared, but 2 weeks later when I came back for the operation, things were great. I opted for general anesthesia--so I was totally out of the operation. When I woke up, I was pretty out of it, but by the end of the first day I was doing much better. They hydrocodiene was great--it kept it to a dull pain, as long as you took it every 4 hours.

don't freak out--you'll be fine :)
Reply:I had mine pulled maybe 2 years ago.

They gave me laughing gas before they put me under and then I woke up with my teeth gone. I was out for less than 1 hour.

There will be a lot of blood the first couple of hours so you have to change the bandages. They also gave me something that looked like headgear that holds ice packs to keep down to swelling. I also had a painkiller medicine and antibactonic(sp, sorry.) You do not have to take the painkiller but the other one you do. I threw up a couple of times, not sure why though.

I took one painkiller, threw it up and did not take another one because I was not in pain. I just looked really bad. I also had cysts under my teeth so they had to take those out.

I looked really bad for about 1 week and couldn't eat(I didn't lose weight though.) After a couple days, you have a syringe and you put hot water in it and put in the bottom holes to get out all the food and stuff that gets stuck. Not as bad as it sounds.

This is just me though. My aunt drove herself home and then went shopping as if she just went in for a check-up.
Reply:it's not bad at all. You go to office, get injected, fall asleep, wake up and go home. It's not even that painful afterwards.
Reply:supposedly the pain and swelling is pretty bad, and you will be sore for about a week.......i am getting mine out in a few months, once my new health insurance kicks in.....love those excellent hospital benefits.
Reply:You have nothing to worry about! I was worried before mine alot too, but trust me it is not bad. You have a little pain after the operation, usually not starting until the next day but my doc gave me all the pain medication I needed and really too much but of course I didn't complain. Like I said before, you have nothing to worry about!
Reply:i had all four pulled at once. They put me under. It hurts for a two or three days, but after that, its nothing. I dont think it was too bad. I ate soft foods and milkshakes, without a straw though cause with one could cause damage. And i had vicodin, so it was good.
Reply:My experience may be very different than everyone elses. I got 2 wisdom teeth pulled yesterday on the right side. I also had a 'pulpectomy' (root canal) the same day on another tooth which they then decided to pull anyway after they realized they couldn't save it. So, yesterday I had 3 teeth pulled and a pointless root canal. None of it hurt, it was very fast and I was wide awake for the whole thing. All I had was about 15 shots of Novocaine. I was shaking because I was so scared but all I felt was a lot of pressure, NO PAIN.

I left WITHOUT a prescription for any painkiller and was told that all I needed was to take about 4 Advil at a time. I didn't believe them that that was enough, so I went home and took 8 Advil but I'm fine. No swelling, no pain. The only thing I have is that my jaw muscles are a little sore from having my mouth open so wide and the side of my tongue is a little sore.

**One thing I need to point out is that my wisdom teeth were NOT impacted, they were just falling apart so I had them pulled. I am getting the other 2 out in the next few weeks. In total, I've now had 10 teeth pulled and yesterdays visit was the fastest and easiest by far with the least amount of bleeding/pain. They stitched up the area where the wisdom teeth were and so far so good. I may have just been lucky and gotten a good dentist this time because I've had horrible experiences before with other dentists pulling teeth.

  1. I bet you won't guess what muscle in your body is the muscle that eliminates joint and back pain, anxiety and burns fat.

This "hidden primal muscle" in your body will boost your energy, immune system, sexual performance, strength and athletic power when unlocked.
