I got my wisdom teeth removed this morning. Am I allowed eating soft foods the first day or should I wait for tomorrow? And , i fell asleep with the cottons in my mouth (to stop the bleeding) and a little piece of string (from the stitching) is hanging down, is that bad? In the instruction sheet it says its normal if that happens, but it happened really soon, is that okay?
Wisdom teeth?
you can definetly eat since you got them removed this morning..but try to make it soft food..nothing like steak..etc..
but the stitching always comes off..so dont worry about that...just dont pull it off or anything!!
to me you s0und A OK..so good luck with everything..and i hope all is well...;-)
Reply:Call the people who did the surgery. Don't ask the crazies on here.
Reply:Not everyone on here is crazy. You can eat today, but I wouldn't if I were you.
Also the string is just fine, they usually just come a little loose and stick out. Our bodies actually attempt to push foreign objects out. So that is normal.
Reply:The stiches will dissolve, don't worry.
Yes, you can eat soft foods and you should drink clear liquids for at least the first 12 hrs.
Reply:For today eat only soft foods and avoid carbonated beverages. Don't drink out of a straw or smoke for at least 48 hours. That could dislodge the blood clot and cause a dry socket and believe me, you don't want that.
As long as the bleeding hasn't started again, the stitches should be fine. Just leave it alone as much as possible and DON'T pull on it.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Reply:You are OK, and the string is annoying but OK..
If the stitch (string) bothers you a LOT, then see your dentist again,, he will simply snip it off.. or you can have your Mom do it.....
