I just got all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out. Now I'm swollen and am beginning to bruise. What can I do to make my face less swollen looking? I start work in a few days, a new job.. so I don't want people to think I'm getting abused at home or something. ahahaha
Wisdom teeth?
FYI, AND ALL PEOPLE READING THIS, IF IT'S BEEN MORE THAN 24 HOURS ICE WON'T BE EFFECTIVE.
AFTERWARD, THE THING TO DO IS USE WARM MOIST HEAT, LIKE MICROWAVED WASHCLOTHS AND IBUPROFEN (ADVIL) TO REDUCE THE SWELLING.
Reply:try ice against your face but don't put pressure on it. my brother had his pulled and he didn't bruise i think he was just a little swollen.
Reply:Hey unfortunately there is nothing that will ultimately make your swelling dissapear, but try hot -packing and cold-packing alternately. 10 minutes with the hot pack 10 minutes with the cold pack. Try this for 40 minutes. Good luck!
Reply:You should use ice packs on your face. Leave them on until you can't stand the cold %26amp; wait a bit %26amp; put them on again. Ask your doctor but that's what we've always done here. Ice packs as much as possible in the beginning will reduce the bruising %26amp; swelling. Feel better! The worst will e over soon. And don't forget, no drinking through a straw. You don't want to get a dry socket %26amp; drinking through a straw could make that happen. :)
Reply:ibuprohen will reduce swelling
Reply:Ice.
Reply:Apply ice packs gently to your face. They will help with the swelling and the bruising. Probably in a few days most of it will be down anyways. Whatever is left over can be covered with make-up.
Be sure to call your dentist if you start to experience any other symptoms. Good luck.
Reply:there is a none-prescription pill out there that u can buy to take and swolling would go down also u can ask ur dentist to give u something or tell u what to do and what not to do. swollling would go down in 3-4 days so dont worry.
Reply:I just had one of my wisdom teeth pulled, and that part of my jaw is really swollen too. (Luckily, I haven't started bruising yet....) the ice packs (20 minutes on, 20 minutes off....) have been my new best friend. my dentist told me that if i started to bruise, to do the ice packs, then after 8 hours of ice packs, to do heat packs, the same way. he said it makes it go away faster...
an hour of cold packs yesterday made my swelling almost not noticeable... try it, and it makes it feel so much better....
good luck!!
Reply:ice packs might work, but if you are concerned by what your new co-workers think, just tell them you had your wisdom teeth out recently. lots of people have done this, and know what the results bring...
Reply:use an icepack or a bag of frozen peas or something like that
Reply:It is going to take time. Keep ice packs on it and do not let it get infected. Tell them at work that you are part chipmunk.
Reply:just ice it.
