Wisdom teeth???

im getting all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out today and i was wonder how long is the pain gonna last and what can i eat...almost after getting them pulled out can i drive home on my own or should i go with someone so they can drive me home

Wisdom teeth???
have someone else drive you to and from, and if possible stay with you for a few hours afterwards just to make sure you don't suffer any bad side effects from the anesthesia. You will be too groggy to drive.

I had a great experience with my wisdom teeth removal! I had all four taken out at once. At least three of them were impacted, and one was in a difficult spot, but I had an excellent oral surgeon who took great care of me. :) Once the surgery was done, they packed the holes with gauze and sent me home with lots of great painkillers which I really didn't use. I had some pain and swelling on the first day home but by the next day I was ready to eat solid foods and I had little to no pain in my jaw. I had a bit of soreness from having my mouth open so long, but that was about it. Compared to the pain I had BEFORE the surgery, AFTER was like a miracle!

Good luck and hope you have as good an oral surgeon as I had!
Reply:you will be given anaestetic so get someone to go with you because you'll be dopey... always soothing is jelly, yogurt and custard but the dentist will be more specific on what you can and cant have.. good luck!
Reply:If you're getting knocked out, you need a ride home. If it's just novacaine, then you can drive. It's really better if you don't get knocked out. I had 2 done each way. You have to take pain killers for a few days but the bad pain is over pretty much after the first day. You can't have anything that gets sucked out of a straw. I'm not sure how long it is until you can eat but I remember that I didn't starve. Good Luck.
Reply:its better if you have someone drive you, pudding, ice cream, yogurt, mainly soft things and the coldness of that kind of stuff will feel good to you
Reply:i got my wisdom teeth out just a little under 12 hours ago, it all depends on how they will sedate you. With any kind of sedation, you need someone to drive you home and stay with you after. I am not really experiencing much pain right now, I had a friend that was in a lot of pain after, but you should get a perscription for a pain killer. eat only soft foods that wont get into the empty cavities and cause a dry socket. Really it is pretty simple, nothing to be worried about.
