Wisdom Teeth??

My wisdom teeth are breaking through my gums and it's very painful. My gums are very swollen and I have a weird taste in my mouth, any ideas on how to ease this pain at all?

Wisdom Teeth??
If you have enough room in your mouth and don't need them removed, try just getting oral numbing gel. Oil of clove will also help.

And, depending on your age, you can rub your gums with whiskey, that's supposed to help too.
Reply:dentist.
Reply:dentist.
Reply:Anti-inflammatory meds like Advil will temporarily ease the pain, but you will definitely have to see your dentist and/or an Oral Surgeon to make sure that they are coming in OK. If they don't come in straight, they can push your existing teeth crooked or if they are impacted, they will need to be surgically removed.
Reply:Try orajel, or there are teething pills from Hyland that help, too. They taste yummy, too!
Reply:Go to your dentist and ask about it and almost everybody has there wisdom teeth removed before they get to the stage that ur at.....
Reply:luckily i have never had this problem. but my twin sister did and she use to swish warm salt water in her mouth for a while.

try buyin a teething ring... since it works for babies then why not grown people too?

and u can also use some Alieve. that works wonders with tooth aces.

hope u feel better soon.
Reply:You probably just have to go ahead and get them pulled or else they will just keep hurting.
Reply:You could use some Ambasol, the over the counter numbing stuff for gums and teeth, it works pretty well. Ask your pharmacists about what you can use. The other choice is to get your wisdom teeth removed, most people do.
Reply:Gargle warm salt water first, then gargle disolvable asprin.

After 5 mins, take some painkillers, and only eat soft mushy food for a few days. Rinse your mouth out lots and lots after eating.

The funny taste is the blood and muck. You might have a slight infection or irritation for a few days. Go to the doctor and not the dentist to have them look at it, as the dentist will charge a fortune for the same advice the doctor will give you.

Poor thing, I hope it heals up quick for you.
Reply:rinse your mouth with warm salt water until you can see the dentist=hope that helps ease some of the pain
Reply:It sounds like impacted wisdom teeth and it also sounds like infection. I would go to a dentist ASAP! However until you get to the dentist try to use Rum soaked cotton balls in your mouth.
Reply:Have them removed. Probably wind up like that anyway.
Reply:This happened to me as well, I highly suggest that you see a dentist to have them extracted. Mine actually were making my teeth crooked because they were coming in wrong. Until then take something like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, etc) which will reduce inflammation and reduce the pain. An oral remedy would be benefical as well. Something like Orajel will temporarly numb the area. Try to put an ice pack on your face, this should also help numb the area.

Good Luck!
Reply:They need to be checked to see if they are coming in strait. I found this stuff called zilactin B it makes every thing in your mouth numb.
Reply:1. Gently massage the gums to help the teeth erupt properly.

2. Gargle with an antiseptic mouthwash (e.g. Listerine original) to minimize infection of exposed tissue.

3. For pain, take Tylenol, Bufferin, etc.

4. Avoid foods like nuts, tacos, chips, etc. which may embed in the gums.

5. Carefully floss between the teeth, if possible, daily.

6. If the discomfort continues to the point that you are distressed or if complications occur, see your dentist immediately. Do not be surprised if your dentist advises their removal.
Reply:SWISH LOTS OF SALT WATER, IT HELPS PULL OUT ANY INFECTIONS IF THERE IS ONE. I HAD TO HAVE THEM PULLED, AS SOON AS THEY WERE IN. SOMETIMES YOU CAN GET AN ABSEST TOOTH. TRY TO MAKE A DENTIST APPT. AND GET X-RAYS DONE . WHEN I DID MY WISDOM TOOTH WAS GROWING IN SIDE WAYS.
Reply:I think the best way would be to remove them,ouch..!My dentist says that I should have my wisdom teeth removed after I take my braces off because it will be painful to have them.
Reply:Sometimes the tissue back there can become infected after too much aggravation (biting on the tissue, swelling up and down, teething). The tissue then becomes extremely swollen, sore, and leaks pus (people often have wierd taste then). If this is the case you will need an antibiotic to get rid of this. Antiinflammatories may help some but you need an antibiotic. Also, do not put asprin in you mouth and leave it or swish it. It can burn the tissues in your mouth. Warm salt water rinses can help the tissue a little bit also.

BUT! You need an antibiotic if the tissue has become infected b/c this infection can quickly spread into the tissue space under the chin and swell cutting off the airway(breathing)! Go see dentist, doctor, someone.
