Wisdom Teeth?

I'm 13 and i'm still young. I have to cut open my gums and pull out 2 wisdom teeth in less then 1 month. Is this going to be scary, is this going to hurt, what's going to happen =(.

Wisdom Teeth?
It won't hurt if they give you enough drugs. The only thing is you can hear what they're doing, but can't feel it so it's really weird. And you'll be alittle uncomfortable for a little while afterwards while it's healing, but they should give you medicine for that also. Good luck, and you'll be just fine, don't worry.
Reply:No it's not scary..Yes it's going to hurt..Nothing going to happen only 2 teeth gone.
Reply:My brother had this done recently. It will hurt, but it won't be unbearable.. most likely sore for about a week or so. Keep to eating mushy foods like applesauce and mashed potatoes. Luckily it's only 2, and not 4. :)
Reply:Hi, I trust you are going to a dentist to get this done. The dentist will give you some fun gas and also some anesthesia that will put you to sleep. You will not feel a thing. When you wake up your mouth will be sore for a few days - you get to eat a lot of ice cream.

You will be fine. I had all four of mine out and it was okay.

The good thing is you will not have problems with them in the future if you get them out now.
Reply:Only the first shot of Novocaine hurts a little. After that it's fine. Maybe a little discomfort after, but not what I'd call pain. You'll be fine.
Reply:Ask your dentist if they are impacted or erupted. If they are erupted, it would cause you more pain to keep them in than to take them out. But if they are impacted, the surgery is a bit harder. Mine were very impacted. There was some swelling, stiffness, and aching. I took Tylenol with codeine as a painkiller and that worked pretty well. Get gel packs that you can keep in the freezer and then put on your cheeks. If you've never gone under anesthesia before, that part is not bad. The shot doesn't hurt and you fall asleep and wake up immediately. But be prepared for a little nausea afterward. Some people get that, some don't. You're pretty young to get your wisdom teeth out, so when you do, you should feel extremely proud of yourself. And, by the way, your surgery will be 50% easier simply because you are only getting 2 teeth out, not 4. Good luck, I hope everything goes well.
Reply:The only thing that may cause pain is the initial injection of anesthetic, which is a mild pain but worth it, and the soreness after the procedure is done and the anesthetic wears off. You shouldn't feel anything while the procedure is being performed. Make sure you have the prescriptions they give you filled right after you leave the office so you can take them as soon as you start to feel pain. I made the mistake of waiting and it was not a pleasant experience waiting through the pain. Don't worry, just trust the dentist I'm sure yours has years of experience with these types of procedures. Good luck!
Reply:Honey, dont worry! You will either be asleep ir extremely frozen. The doctor will make sure you are sufficiently numbed before he starts. All you will feel is pushing and pressure, no pain. Please do not worry. Also, if you are going to be awake during the procedure, you could ask your dentist for laughing gas and maybe take soem gravol before you go to help you relax. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Reply:Don't worry! I'm pretty sure you're going to be asleep for the procedure (I was, and I'm 20!) so it won't hurt at all while they're being taken out. You'll just feel kinda groggy and drowsy soon afterwards. Just try to take care of the wounds, take some aspirin, and you'll be fine.
Reply:you will do great. going to the oral surgeon to have this done is awsome wish i would have gone this road. you will be sore for a few days but since your young you will heal fast. they will but and iv in your arm and when its all done about 20 to 40 mins your on your way home sleep it off and just relax watch TV or play video games. you will get pain meds to take after wards at home. don't drink anything with a straw, no soda's, for the first 72 hours. they will give u a post op instruction. you'll do fine.
