Wisdom teeth?

What causes the wisdom teeth to start growing?

Is it the release of a hormone? If so, which one? and why does it occur at 18 years of age and older....

Wisdom teeth?
When we are born we usually come into the world toothless, but as we age, teeth appear in our mouths on a somewhat regular schedule. For example, our first molars (large grinding teeth at the back of the jaw) usually appear when we are 6 or 7 years old, our second molars when we are 12 or 13, and our third molars (wisdom teeth) when we are typically between 18–20 years old*—when we are much “wiser.” Many people have four wisdom teeth, one on each side of the upper and lower jaws, while others have from only 1 to as many as 8 wisdom teeth.

No, the eruption of wisdom tooth is not hormonal related. If you are concerned about your wisdom teeth, talk to your dentist. Your dentist will advise you about the risks, complications and outcomes related to keeping or removing your wisdom teeth.
Reply:its part of life...
Reply:The wisdom teeth grow when all the other adult teeth grow, but it is usually in the late teens that dentists want to do something about them. That's when people are nearly at their full physical maturity, so if there is a problem, they know it's unlikely to resolve itself.
Reply:I do not know what triggers them to extend out of the gum but it doesn't necessarily happen after 18 mine started cutting through at 15.
