Wisdom teeth??
I just got mine out yesterday, and I was terrified when I went in there, but the nurse was super nice and explained everything to me, and put in an IV and took my blood pressure and and stuff like that. Then the doctor came in, asked if I had anymore questions, and then put one shot in my IV, and I felt kinda woozy, and then he started putting in the next shot and I just fell right asleep, to my knowledge (my mom was in there with me at that point and said I was still awake and everything but I don't remember any of it). The next thing I knew, a lady was telling me it was time to wake up, and I realized I didn't have my glasses on anymore.

Don't be afraid to ask questions when you go in there, the nurses or doctor would be glad to answer any of them, I'm sure.

My mouth was super numb for a long time, but they said it was normal.

The worst part was going in there before the procedure, and like, 12 hours later, when only half of my bottom lip was still numb...lol

Feel free to e-mail if you have any more questions!

I hope this helps!
Reply:I think you shouldnt worry about it...Im sure the reason why your going to that dentist is because you've been with them for a while right?
Reply:if u really trust ur dentist or surgeon u have nothing to worry about.. my mom's a dentist and she has a friend who's a surgeon.. he does all that kinds of stuff.. and so far, nothing bad happened..
Reply:Don't worry. Oral surgeons do the IV sedation all the time. They are extremely experienced and comptetent. The drugs they give you aren't strong enough to put you out completely, i.e., you will breathe on your own and be "conscious." The worst part of the IV sedation is the sickness and fatigue you feel afterwards. You may get carsick on the way home. It's not a bad experience, in fact it is quite relaxing. When Iwoke up, I felt drunk and couldn't walk straight. The surgeon is very nice and walked me to the car and my husband drove me home. It was all a blur, but not bad. Don't worry!!!! Good luck :o) Oh, the IV donesnt hurt at all, just like getting your blood drawn.
