so i got my wisdom teeth out this morning and it hurts and all that jazz but whatever. i got all four taken out and the one on the bottom right side won't stop bleeding. i've been keeping gauze and stuff in it and pressing down hoping to make a clot so it stops buuuut it's just not happenin, the other side made a clot right away though.
any suggestions?
is this normal?
Wisdom teeth?
The fact the other side has stopped bleeding indicates you don't have a bleeding problem. Just keep the pressure on the extracted socket with the gauge for 30 min. If the bleeding continues, call your dentist right away. He may need to stick up the wound.
Often, the tooth that has a difficult time about bleeding will develop a dry-socket about the third days after the surgery. If this happens you will experience a lot of pain on day 3-4. You need to see your dentist for dry-socket dressing, too.
Reply:It happens sometimes. I ended up having to go back the next day and get mine packed because the stitches loosened up enough to cause me to get a dry socket. If it's still bleeding in the morning, call your dentist and see what he/she has to say. Good luck
Reply:Call Your Dentist
Reply:It's normal... Mine did the same thing, but I just waited about 3 days after I had them pulled and it stopped bleeding. It's so gross, I know but you have to wait it out. Just kick back and relax. Good luck!
Reply:it may need a stitch.....I'd go get it checked out
Reply:just keep firm pressure w/gauze pads but bleeding is normal
just make sure the stiches are in
Reply:yes
Reply:I had one pulled yesterday that would not stop bleeding. The oral surgeon's office said to moisten a tea bag and put that against the area. Replace every 30 minutes if needed. It worked for me. I hope it helps you. If you continue to have problems call your doctor!
Reply:It is normal to bleed but if it bleeds for more than a few hours I would definetly call the dentist back or just go to the office and tell them.
Hope you feel better!
Reply:Try moistening a tea bag and use that instead of the gauze for ten minutes, throw it away and do it again. The tannic acid in the tea is a natural blood constrictor and will help to stop the bleeding. I hope this helps... It won't hurt anyway. If it still persists, go to the dentist and he/she will pack it with a clotting agent for you. =)
Reply:Use a moistened tea bag on it this will help! Don't remove that original gauze you might get a dry socket and believe me you do not want a dry socket. I had one and i thought i'd die from the pain. Good luck
Reply:it is normal
but if it becomes more of a problem
call your oral surgeon
