Wisdom teeth?

How long can%26#039;t you smoke after you get your wisdom teeth taken out?

Wisdom teeth?
Hi, Smoking after having wisdom teeth extracted can put you at risk of getting a %26quot;dry socket%26quot;. This is extremely painful and can become infected very easily. I usually recommend my patients not to smoke of alt least 2 weeks after extraction but if you want to be on the safe side, you might want to leave it a few days to another week longer.

Hope I helped

Reply:Something like 2 weeks I think.

If you smoke before then you%26#039;ll get dry socket.
Reply:about 2 weeks. And believe me, you don%26#039;t want dry socket, it sucks so bad, and is extreamly painful %26amp; last for atleast 4-5 days!
Reply:Your not supposed to smoke for 2 weeks. My boyfriend smoked right away, less than usual but he didn%26#039;t have any problems. The orthodontist was pretty mad at him.
Reply:I smoked right after I got out of the dentist! ouch! Your not suppose to drink out of a straw either! When you suck in, it pulls air down in the open spot and CAN cause a dry socket, but doesnt always..
Reply:Don%26#039;t smoke until the space is completely filled up and healed...takes about two weeks. Use the patch, dude.

Don%26#039;t get that dry socket! I smoked like the idiot you don%26#039;t wanna be, it hurt like heck and had to have it stuffed with antiseptic impregnated filament-tape a couple times before it all healed up a good while later... Problem was that the negative pressure when you SUCK on the cig ruptures the tiny capillaries in the wound.

Take it from an idiot who did smoke, but that was 35 years ago. I%26#039;m msarter, now.
