Wisdom teeth?

my friend just got his wisdom teeth out and the swelling is more than normal, and he can not take anything but ibproufen and tylenol. and he said that ice isn%26#039;t really working, any suggestions on how to get rid of the pain?

Wisdom teeth?
The thing about wisdom tooth extraction is the pain that follows afterwards. The pain should subside a few days after he%26#039;s had them removed. When I have a lot of pain I usually take 800mg of Ibuprofen (four tablets) which is exactly how much the prescription strength is. Along with that I take 1000 mg of Tylenol (two tablets). The ibuprofen will help with the inflammation and the tylenol will help with the pain. If the pain persists beyond a week, I would suggest giving the dentist a call and/or making another visit.

I hope this helps.

Reply:Hey, I just had my wisdom teeth taken out about 3 months ago, and it hurt like a b****, but the swelling and pain did go down after about 3-4 days. The best thing to do is keep ice on it as much as possible and take an extra dose of the tylenol. My doctor gave me something like vicodin, but Rx drugs make me sick to my stomach which just added to the pain. So stick with the basics and try to sleep the days away.
