Wisdom Teeth?

I%26#039;m getting my wisdom teeth pulled in about three weeks. The thing that stinks is that the specialist took some x rays and saw that I have 6 instead of 4 (4 on top and 2 on bottom). Either way does anyone who have had experience know of the pain, and if it is more difficult with6 ?

Wisdom Teeth?
they give you lots of pain killers so you dont feel anything, its totally fine during the actual operation (i was awake!!! it was crazy) and then afterwards they give you a perscription for vicodin, or at least thats what they gave me.

its weird that you have 6 that will probably just mean that it will take longer to heal.

you should probbaly just go out and buy some good magazines or a good book and buy some icecream without any chunks of anything, and applesauce and mashed potatoes and that kind of stuff because you wont be able to chew for a while. and no straws either!
Reply:I%26#039;ve not heard of anybody with 6 wisdom teeth and i%26#039;ve been a dental nurse for more years than i can remember!

The pain factor is different in everbody, some people are fine and have no pain after the extractions and some people suffer.

Lower wisdom teeth can be slightly more difficult to remove as there is a very slim chance that the inferior dental nerve can be damaged and this can result in numbness which can last a while.

Normal over the counter medication can be used to ease the pain, avoid aspirin as this thins the blood and will encourage bleeding.
Reply:I was given Ibuprofen and Codeine but haven%26#039;t needed them for pain. The anticipation is the worst part.
