Wisdom teeth?

How bad is the pain after you get your wisdom teeth removed?

I%26#039;m getting mine out Friday and I just want to be prepared.

Wisdom teeth?
You will be tender and sore, but the surgeon should give you a prescription for pain medicine.

When I had my wisdom teeth out, the pain before they were removed was worse than the pain afterwards.
Reply:dont be alarm but it hurts for a couple of days... dont worry just show up brave..

Reply:When I had mine out, there was nearly no swelling so that helped a lot. But there was a fair amount of pain. If you know how you react to pain medication, informing the dentist before hand can be helpful both during and after the procedure. Don%26#039;t get psyched out, just go have buiness taken care of and plan to take the next day or two pretty lightly...and buy ice cream.
Reply:To be honest, I had almost no pain after I had my wisdom teeth removed. Might have had something to do with being doped up on a heavy dose of oxycodone for the first couple of days following surgery. =) Every person is different, though - I know a woman who had hers out the day before Thanksgiving, and ate Thanksgiving dinner the next night. I know another girl who had hers taken out and couldn%26#039;t eat solid food for two weeks. It just depends on how quickly you heal and how badly impacted your teeth were. Don%26#039;t sweat it though; if you do everything the doctor tells you to, you will be fine. Good luck!
