Is it normal to have bad breath after having your wisdom teeth cut out?
Wisdom teeth?
Absolutely because you have stitches and probably a hole that food gets stuck in. Once you%26#039;re all healed up and the stitches are gone you%26#039;ll be fine. Until then ust drink lots of water and rinse, but not too hard.
Reply:Only if the extraction location has become infected . . .
Reply:Yeah dude, but gross.
Reply:that%26#039;s not normal at all. please follow up with your dentist or oral surgeon. sounds like you have a infection setting up, which could be causing the bad breath.
Reply:Yes it%26#039;s because they put those seperators in your mouth that make it impossible to close your mouth. Therefore your mouth gets super dry and that%26#039;s what causes it.
Reply:Oh yeah! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out at once but I kept eating ice cream so I never smelled it.
But once I got a tooth pulled it stunk bad and I hated it. When my stiches finally came out I smelled it, the stiches were in the shape of the fan on a windmill, and it stunk so bad. It wasn%26#039;t too long before the smell went away. I think the next day or two.
Reply:It%26#039;s normal, but, keep an eye on it. If you get a fever, call the doctor. Follow the advice that the doctor gave you for keeping the area clean and follow them to the letter. I had to use a weird syringe to flush things out of my sockets until they healed. There was always a smell associated with that. Plus, you are probably keeping your mouth open which will cause dryness and a bit of a stink.
