Wisdom teeth?

My wisdom teeth are coming in,well..one of them. It looks crooked? I refuse to be put to sleep... so....if i didnt get them cut out, what would be the worst thing to happen?

Wisdom teeth?
I am in my 30%26#039;s and i refuse to go to sleep for wisdom teeth removel too.

i had two taken with just local

worst case there is alot of pulling and cracking sounds but they come out.....it takes a bit to do but it does not hurt just really freaky sounding and a little disconcerting.

go to your local gp and get some antibiotics that will help with infection and relieve the pain if you have it. it will also give you time to consider your options.
Reply:be relaxed and get it pulled out
Reply:after time your teeth might get crooked in the front if the wisdom tooth is growing crooked. Its gonna push the teeth next to it and cause a domino effect. I have straight teeth but ever since the wisdom teeths grew out(grew out straight up but alittle crooked) I can see that some of my teeth moved a bit. My sister%26#039;s teeth are messed up pretty bad now cuz her%26#039;s grew out really crooked.
Reply:they could get impacted (one tooth jamming into another) that%26#039;s bad and painful
Reply:the majority of them grow crooked. if you refuse to be put alseep and not get them taken out, what would happen is the wisdom teeth will grow in, and push all your other teeth in that direction, making them more crooked.
Reply:You get massive headaches, toothaches, crooked teeth because of the wisdoms tooth pressure and PAIN. Lots of it. There are other ways of getting a wisdom tooth out other than being put to sleep like you say. Ask your Dentist, he%26#039;ll let you know.
Reply:if it cause you pain then you have to have it remove.
Reply:you might die...it attracts sinister fiends...
Reply:I think you%26#039;ll get an infection. And that%26#039;s worse than being put to sleep.
Reply:Usually wisdom teeth aren%26#039;t that big of a deal unless you plan to get braces or unless they cause overcrowding in your mouth. I was of the same opinion as you, but my dentist told me that I had 4 teeth coming in and they were beginning to crowd my mouth, so I had them pulled. Worst case scenario, you%26#039;ll need braces or you may talk a bit funny. Other then that, they don%26#039;t have to be taken out.
Reply:nothing serious if it is perfectly aligned u will be fine
Reply:The pain gets worse. You will probably have to have them extracted at some point. Visit your dentist and check out your options.
Reply:The worse thing that can happen is not as uncommon as one would like, your tooth can absess and become infected which poisons you and you can actually die from it, which is why it is so important to have them removed especially when they are impacted or half buried under the gum.
Reply:You can get anesthetized with novocain in your gum area and have the Dentist drill your teeth into bits and pieces.

Then he could pick up the pieces rather than have entire third molars pulled from root.

Least painful in my opinion.
Reply:OK 1st of all stop saying cut it out, that just sounds horribly painful. You will have to get them pulled. Nitrous Oxide aka laughing gas, will not put you to sleep, but will numb your senses and make it almost fun. Trust me getting them taken care sooner rather then later is the only way to go. Good Luck and Lots of Laughs
Reply:so much better to get it taken out crooked is impacted and can cause much pain, but sice you are young your wisdom teeth are shallow, they should all be taken out and my fiance said he was awake for his i just hope yiou have gone to your dentist before and know s/he doesn%26#039;t cause pain, or would neglect after care.
Reply:Others have answered the question. I%26#039;ll address the second one you didn%26#039;t specifically ask. My wisdom teeth needed to be removed; one, in particular was causing me a lot of problems (it was causing my cheekbone to be extremely sensitive; just touching my face near that bone caused a lot of pain). The procedure isn%26#039;t as horrific as some make it out to be. Maybe I was a unique case but all my dentist did was give me a local (Novacaine) then he pulled them out, all four of them, one after another. I wasn%26#039;t put to sleep and my gums didn%26#039;t need to be cut. I won%26#039;t lie and say it was a pleasant experience but it was not near as bad as I thought it would be. There was, of course, soreness and very slight pain for a few days afterward, but it was something that needed to be done. The best part was the pain and sensitivity in my cheekbone were gone. If you need to have your wisdom teeth extracted, welcome to the club. Your dentist won%26#039;t put you to sleep if you don%26#039;t want that. Discuss your options with your dentist. Don%26#039;t stress over the procedure, it won%26#039;t be nearly as bad as you imagine it will be.
Reply:Depending on how they come in they could do anything from pushing on your other teeth and making them move to causing the other tooth it is in contact with to decay.

If the wisdom tooth comes all the way in, you could have it pulled with just a local anesthetic. Talk to a dentist about this.
Reply:If you are like me, they will start swelling at the gums and hurt like h*ll. The best thing to do is have it removed my sister refused to be put to sleep and the doctor cut 2 of them out without putting her to sleep. He just gave her some good meds that basically sedated her.
Reply:If the wisdom tooth isn%26#039;t causing any pain or any other problems like cutting your cheek then you don%26#039;t have to do a thing, alot of people live long happy lives with all their wisdom teeth still intact.
