Wisdom Teeth?

I have a feeling I will be getting my wisdom teeth taken out soon. My sister has had hers removed as well as my parents. I was just wondering, I breathe through my mouth most of the time, Will that interfere with the work being done. Also, how long is the procedure.

I%26#039;m kinda nervous, so any encouraging thoughts would be great!

Wisdom Teeth?
I had mine taken out a few years ago and I was a mouth-breather (not anymore, since I had my septum straightened). Anyway, I was not conscious (IV anesthesia) and the breathing through the mouth was not a problem. It was so much easier than I had expected. If you are nervous, ask the oral surgeon to prescribe valium and you can take one the night before and one that morning. It makes you more relaxed and not nervous. It%26#039;s really not that bad - especially if you like the doctor and if you go into it with a positive attitude.
Reply:I%26#039;m getting mine out soon to.. I think if they knock you out it won%26#039;t matter, you%26#039;ll probably drool everyone, lol, but they got those Spit suckers.

You%26#039;ll be on meds, so you%26#039;ll be goofy, but it will lessen any pain afterwards, You%26#039;ll be basically out of commission for at least two days, unless you%26#039;re tough, I%26#039;ve seen people get theirs out and go out the next day, and then again I%26#039;ve seen people sleep for 3 days afterwards.. But good luck!
Reply:I just had mine out anout a month ago. I FREAKED. The worst part for me ws before and after. The IV and then the swelling. But mine were imacted which made them much worse. The swelling and brusing on my face lasted about a week. But i am still afraid to chew on one side. I ate alot of jello, pudding, soup, and mac and cheese. Make sure you ice alot the fist day, if you dont you will regret it. But hte prodcude last about 30 min for me and hten i had to wait 30 min after. I dont remeber the sugary though becaue i was out cold.

* if you do get put to sleep. When you re waking up, listen to the nurse, most of the time she talkes to you or to someone else. Mine talked to the other people about how mean the doctor is and then they planned a protst all with me int he room!
Reply:I am assuming you will be awake for the procedure. My sister breathes through her mouth most of the time too. She also has a very small mouth. She did not have any problems when she had her wisdom teeth taken out. I don%26#039;t think it will interfere with the work being done at all. I can%26#039;t remember how long my procedure was. You shouldn%26#039;t feel anything, but the sounds aren%26#039;t all that great. They will probably give you painkillers when you%26#039;re done. Some people I know said they were able to eat big meals afterwards. Others only did the liquids, ice cream, and porridge. It depends.

Remember to keep ice on it afterwards. My sister didn%26#039;t and her face was a little puffy the day after.

Good luck.
Reply:you will do great . you won%26#039;t fill a thing. and when he%26#039;s done and send you home you get pain pills and you get to have soup and jello. hope this helps good luck.
Reply:I had them taken out 2 weeks ago while asleep and didn%26#039;t feel a thing. I barely remember what happened when I woke. I%26#039;m a mouth breather and there wasn%26#039;t any problems. The whole thing took 1/2 hour.
