Wisdom teeth?

I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled out today!!! and my face is swelling does anyone know how i could bring down the swelling or make my mouth stop hurting me. And i also got stitches but they disappear, does anyone know how long it takes to disappear?

Wisdom teeth?
Put ice on your face, it will reduce swelling. Use extra strength pain killer, the dentist should have recommended something! They will disappear fairly quick.
Reply:About the swelling, you should place ice on for some time ( I always recomment 20 minutes) and then off for the same amount of time. This should be done for the first 24 hours but no longer. This will help the swelling stay to a minnimum. Other than that, you could ask your dentist if you need to be on a steroid. That will reduce the swelling if it is dangerously swolen (like causeing you trouble breathing).

The pain will be there for about 36 hours depending on how much (if any) bone was removed during the extraction appointment.

About the sutures being disolvable: Every brand has a different amount of time that they predict them to stay, usually about 3-7 days.

About the pain, he should have given you some narcotic pain medicin to take. If not, call him and tell him you need some, if you do in fact need some. If you already have some and its not cutting the pain, sub in every 2 hours with some Advile or any antiinflamitory NSAID. Most of the time the narcotic will work for at least 2 hours. If not, what party habits have you embellished before the extraction date? A history of use of narcotics prescription meds or heroin, I believe even cocain, will lessen the effect of the pain meds. Really sucks to find that out after something painful happens.

Anyway, Good luck. Hope this info helped
Reply:I just got mine out. For the first 24 hours, put ice on it. For 15 mins each time. Then on the second, switch to heat. Like warm towel or heating pad. Sleep propped up with like 2 pillows. Day 3 is the peak of swelling for me. Day 4 and on has light to no swelling. You%26#039;ll have to ask your doc how long they dissolve. Make a follow up appt if you haven%26#039;t already. Good luck!
Reply:I%26#039;m hoping your oral surgeon gave you instructions. Anyway keep eye on your face, ten minutes on and ten minutes off. Eat as best as you can. I am a vegetarian and gorged on protein shakes and smoothies. If your doctors instructions weren%26#039;t clear enough, get them clarified. I was on my feet within 48 hours. Don%26#039;t sweat it.
Reply:After the extraction of third molars (wisdom teeth) swelling is normal. An ice pack will help reduce the swelling, and should help ease the pain. The dissolving sutures will take about a week or ten days to fully dissolve.
Reply:Keep ice on your face for at least 72 hours. That will help with the swelling some. I had mine pulled last Friday and I%26#039;m still dealing with chipmunk cheeks. I don%26#039;t know how long it will take your stitches to dissolve. I imagine a couple of weeks give or take a few days.
