Wisdom Teeth?
Most do for impacted teeth.

Reply:just get very little sleep and it only takes like 30 min so you'll be fine
Reply:yeah they do,, ask when you call for free appointment,
Reply:They didn't put me completely out but I sure don't remember any pain. I was pretty doped up. You should be fine even if they don't put you completely out. You'll be feelin' good. ;-)
Reply:Apparently they dont anymore, which frightens me. But ask your dentist. I think they may refer you to another dentist or hospital that do do it.
Good Luck
Reply:As far as I know they put you completely under...
Reply:I was put out completely and so was my husband.
Reply:They put you to sleep. I just got mine done last year. I remembered where I was though, lol. And after a while you start to feel the pain. But you are asleep for the surgery.
Reply:I was just given a whole bunch of valium. I was basically out - because although they say I wasn't "under" I don't remember a thing. Being put under is usually the most dangerous part of a surgery - trust me you'll be fine.
Reply:you can choose- my hubby had his done while he was awake and said it wasn't that bad and only took 10-15 minutes once he was numb.
you can also choose to be put under but it costs more and you have to have someone drive you home. the difference for my hubby was about 300 dollars more.
the pain/discomfort afterwards is the same.
Reply:It depends on what you want really. I think most put the patient completely under -or at least that is what I'd want- and then do the procedure. But trust me, whether you remember it or not, you will feel it eventually.
Reply:My oral surgeon put me completely under. (I got mine out in March) I din't feel anything until the next day but I had strong pain killers so that wan't too bad.
Reply:It is admittedly an unpleasant experience, but doctors these days prefer not to use general anaesthesia due to potential risk (my general made me very ill afterwards). You won't feel any pain during the procedure but be prepared for some discomfort afterward. It's a great way to lose weight! (just kidding really)
Reply:NO.. this is a simple procedure.. they will give you gas or a shot.. it's not a big deal.. it won't hurt.. And if you're anything like me, you'll be glad to get those things out.. you'll feel much better! just relax.. and I recommend that you ask for the gas, cause you'll just start to laugh, and when you stop, it'll be over.
Reply:It depends on the condition of the tooth itself. But not so serious an injection is enough.
Reply:absolutely yes!!!! Call dentist or "oral surgeons" and find out who does that in your area. In fact I have never heard of anyone being awake during having their wisdom teeth out. Afterwards make sure you drink lots and lots of water, and juice and pop etc. Also try popsicles and warm tea. Don't get dehydrated. You will be fine, don't worry. The pain will not be that bad and can be contolled with meds and cold packs. You will need two to three days to recover.
Reply:I would call and ask first. I thought my dentist did but when I got there I was awake through the whole thing. Not so bad only takes abot 45min-1 hour. Goes by fast.
Reply:why do they remove wisdom tooth anyway, mine actually grew back just recently, so i donut see the point., but more and more doctors are begging to not use the gas anymore they like injections faster and cheaper for them, they don't have to worries about giving patients lethal doses or not enough gas to the patient, an injection is allot safer and quicker in my town i couldn't find a single one that used gas i had to go to Sacramento and even there it was hard to find one.
Reply:Yes..i was put under..you usually dont go to an average dentist though..you go to a maxiofacial doctor..i dont have the right name, but it's somethinbg like that..its usually a little more expensive, but its how i had mine done, i think it cost about 600 dollars but yes they put you under and you dont remeber anything..i did however "Wake up" during the procedure, but i have since learned that they do that on purpose...i didnt feel any pain but i remeber looking around and trying to signal to the nurse with my eyes..kinda freaked me out, but then i was immediately put back under...And they dont use gas..they use an IV..dosnt hurt though..its a cocktail of drugs..your under pretty quick
Reply:I had my wisdom tooth pulled 3 weeks ago.I 'm afraid of dentists like hell. The dentist won't put you to sleep to pull your tooth, but trust me on this THERE IS NO NEED.He will give you anesthesia right next to your tooth. You will feel only little pinch and THAT WILL BE ALL of feeling ANY pain.MY tooth was very bad and weak so it took my dentist 15 minutes of trying to grab it and than pulling left and right ...to eventually take that sucker out.....and I didn't feel anything at all.I was really surprised. It takes few weeks the wound to heal so by yourself pain killers (strong). The third day after the procedure was the worst( very pain full) but together with your"best friend" TYLENOL or any other pain killer you will be all right.
Reply:yes they can put you to sleep but will still give the shots to numb, I just had 3 teeth pulled on 12-11-2007 at 11:30 am was going threw pain for 2 months because of fear of being numb after wards, my dentist just numbed the tooth itself on the lower with ligamaject, the upper check then pallet only numb on cheek and gums, my wife had all her wisdom teeth removed being put to sleep, she remembered nothing of it just afterwards, which was not bad at all, do not be like me get it done it will feel so much better, take it from me 2 months of pain and anixiety was not worth the half an hour it took to get my teeth pulled
