Wisdom teeth?

OK well Im gettin my wisdom teeth pulled in about 2 weeks and I was wondering..what r some of the things that can happen while getting this done? This is my first surgery and I am so scared!! Everyone says there is nothing to worry about but I wanna make sure...

Wisdom teeth?
Hi,

Actually, I just got my wisdom teeth out today. I had four of them and the bottom ones were sideways.

For a month and a half, I was terrified of getting them out. It was my first surgery too.

I know what its like to be scared, I thought for sure I was going to die. I got sick just thinking about it.

But today I went in, and I promise you, all those hours worrying were wasted. They used general anesthesia on me and put me out, the only thing that hurt was the IV going in. The assistant said to me, "I'm going to take your parents into the waiting room again." "Ok." "You did great! Wanna see your teeth?" Nothing was hurting, I was just a little dizzy. It had only taken them half an hour, and I couldnt believe how easy it was. Its best to get them out when you're young, before they have roots, and the chances of complications are slim to none.

Trust me, this is coming from the world's biggest fraidy cat. You will be ok, its no problem at all. Good luck!
Reply:nothing can happen while its getting done....afterwards you should expect for your face to swell and you'll have alot of vicodon so it will be nice%26amp;hearts and relaxing so don't worry. also you can't eat for about 8 hours before your surgery and you can't eat until afew hours after wards and you have to eat soft foods for awhile. the holes where the wisdom teeth were won't bleed and they'll heal over time. your mouth heals faster than any other part on your body!!
Reply:don't eat ice cream my husband feed me that and I got so sick, it a wonder that I diden't get dry sockets from it. But Thank God I didn't. Just make sure they give you pain meds strong enough, and try and stay knocked out and or doped up for a few day that way you wom't be in pain or if you are you won;t know it. That worked for me!!! Good Luck and God Bless You!!!
Reply:Going to sleep during the surgery is fine. I just had mine out two days ago, and everything went well. There aren't a whole lot of risks involved with this procedure, just relax and it will seem like two minutes have passed when you wake up. Follow your dentist's advice to a T and you should be fine. My dentist had me start my prescriptions a couple of days early to help with the swelling and risk of infection. Good luck!
Reply:There can always be complications with any surgery you undergo, but with the technology and doctors we have nowdays, getting teeth out is a pretty safe practice. I got mine done a few months ago. I'm 16. I was put under and came out of it just fine. I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine as well. : )
