my best friend just had her wisdom teeth taken out wat can she eat that will not harm her mouth she only had them out yesterday finding it hard to talk any ideas
Wisdom teeth?
Poor thing. I had two of mine out and the pain was beyond belief. I found eating very soft food, like ice cream, yogurt, jelly and biscuits dunked in tea, warm soups etc. Make sure she washes her mouth with mouth wash after each meal as particles can get stuck.
She will get worse before she gets better, and she is very lucky to have a good friend who is helping her.
Reply:take pain killers regular and just eat soft food, mash potato, soup, soft eggs, weetabix in warm milk etc, if she eats anything hard or sharp like a chip/fries then it might stick in the hole and hurt
Reply:Soup with bread soaked in it is best. My sister is a dentist and says you shouldn't eat solids for a while well a few days at least. Ice cream is a life saver though!!
Reply:Whatever if comfortable. Soft foods like yoghurt, mashed potatoe and cheese. Ice Cream maybe soup. Try to avoid really hot or cold foods. I had all four of my wisdom teeth out many years ago so this is what I remember
Reply:To eat every thing that doesn't cause inflamation like chilly or hot food . Speedy recoveryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Reply:soup, but i was lucky i was eating steak and rice the next day. very slowly but the will to eat was to great. just make sure she rinses her mouth with salt water gently to remove anything from the socket. and the salt will remove the taste of blood from her mouth. just let her know to start slow and eat what shes comfortable with.
Reply:I've had all my whisdom teeth out and didn't find any problems eating. She should just be careful, nothing salty or too cold, and make sure they are small bites.
Your a nice friend for asking.
Reply:I lived on mashed potato and hummus for a couple of days.
Reply:Weetabix with warm milk and sugar did it for me.
Reply:wisdom teeth is 3rd molar .it comes at age of 17-25.ask ur friend to eat soft diet like rice and take medication as prescibed by your dentist .and rinse with warm salted water 2 -3 times daily. most importent keep that area clean
Reply:Ideas for food : anything like mashed potatoes, pudding, plain Ice cream, oatmeal. Mainly soft foods. No straws
Reply:Hi, my friend recently went thru the same thing, she found that eating yoghurt, ice cream, soup..anything really that is easy to swallow......x
Reply:I sucked on lots of ice and popsicles it helps numb your mouth too...
Reply:Whatever she eats will cause no harm but, of course, whether she can chew or not will affect what she can eat. After the first day or so the most critical period of healing has already started so how quickly she now heals is, to some extent, predetermined. Using a good mouthwash such as corsodyl will help.
Pain is always nature's guide. If she can eat curry, crisps or whatever without pain then carry on.
