Wisdom Teeth?

I just got my wisdom teeth taken out Yesterday mroning, I had surgrey yesterday mroning and I'm all swell up and things. How long it's gonna go away! I had all for taken out of my gums.

I know! It hurts really bad when the pain medicine wears off. It'll stay swollen for a long time. I remember how my face looked like a watermelon because I swelled up so much. Just drink lots of milkshakes.
Reply:It will take a couple weeks, your mouth will go down before your stitches fall out.

Reply:I had 3 taken out last summer. With the ice thing they gave me, it only took about 2 days for the swelling to go down and 3 for most of the pain to go away. However, the bruising on my cheeks lasted for like a week.
Reply:Poor you, it takes a few days for the swelling to go down. Full sympathy, it's one of the worst pains you can have, I know I had all mine out at the same time.





You will feel back to normal within about 10 days, hope you feel better soon :-)
Reply:i had the same thing happen to me i got all four pulled out and it hurts. As for the swelling it depends on hour your body reacts to the procedure ... it took me about four/five days
Reply:I've heard of it lasting a few days, but any more than 3 or 4 days and you should call your dentist
Reply:I just got mine removed last month~ all 5!!! I had one buryed in my jaw! and it only took a couple days! Do ice packs on your face if you can stand it!!!!!! but-- really it dont take long! It will be over before you know it! That and Ibprophen.. its an anti-inflamitory! it will help with swelling and pain! (ask a Dr. First to make sure, dont want to make you sick if you cant take it and follow as perscribed on container/dr bottle, you can get it otc and from a DR.)





well, Unless you got an infection going on.. u got puss or anything commin out of the stiches or anything?? If you got that GO BACK to your dentist and they will give you an antibiotic to clear it up! and that will depend on when you get there and get the drug into your system!!!
Reply:If you had taken prophylactic antibiotics prior to the surgery, the swelling should go away within a day or two.
Reply:i had all four taken out at one time and it was so that i chewed a vicodin every 4-6 hours . it was more than a week before i started to feel better
Reply:Gargle with salt-water, it sounds crazy but you will be thankful for it later, trust me. No cigarettes, no straws, no alcohol and no hard candy for at least two weeks.
