Wisdom teeth?

Why does the whole side of may face (skin) feel very tender when my wisdom tooth is on the move? Does is have anything to do with nerves?

Wisdom teeth?
The area around the wisdom tooth (gums) will be inflamed and sometimes swollen, which you will be able to feel when you touch the side of your face. I get it sometimes too. If it goes on for too long or becomes too painful, go and see a dentist and they will probably prescribe antibiotics for you. They might even recommend that you have it removed if it is likely to be a recurrent problem or if the wisdom tooth will serve no functional purpose. In the meantime, take some anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen and make sure you clean in that area as best as you can. Also, use warm salt water mouthwashes to fight any infection.

Good luck and I hope it's better soon x
Reply:You need to see your dentist.

I had a rogue wisdom tooth.. pain, metallic tastes etc..

Hospital visit sorted that out.

Do it.
Reply:When widsom teeth first start coming out, they have to cut through your gum, the same as a baby when they are teething.
Reply:The tenderness is because the regional area is infected or inflamed. This produces swelling and tesnion, and can highten the feeling of a nervy pain in the region. To find out more on why you should be getting your wisdom teeth removed, go to http://www.oceansurgical.com.au/. Remember that only oral and maxillofacial surgeons should remove your wisdom teeth.
