Wisdom Teeth?

I am about to have a wisdon tooth removed in hospial tomorrow.... lower right... has anyone experienced this? and does it hurt? or leave any bruising / swelling...? thanks in advance.

Wisdom Teeth?
It hurts, but it's not that bad. I was told I may bruise or swell. Didn't happen though. It gave me a reason to eat ice cream for 3 days straight!. =) Oh, and absolutely no type of suction for 4 to 5 days. ie smoking, drinking out of straws etc. The suction can break the blood clot leading to dry socket. That is where your bone is exposed, which I heard is worse than childbirth. ahhhhh!

Ultimately, it hurts....but the pain killers def helped me.

Good luck. You'll be back to normal within a week.
Reply:you WILL not feel a thing.I have had three out now, they are no use anyway and can be affected by the glands in your throat. and vice versa.
Reply:i had two out on friday - u cant feel too much but the pressure on the jaw is unbelievable

without being melodramatic, it did bleed for 24 hours and its still pretty sore now

it also depends how deep they are and if they curve etc
Reply:your very lucky to be having this operation i had to ride out the pain with my 4 wisdom teeth!

my mother and my brother had this op and experienced swelling for a period of just over 24 hours and bruising lasted for about 4 days but this is all down to the nature of your operation and the time that your body takes to heal.
Reply:When I had mine pulled, the only part that I thought hurt was the anesthetic shot. I felt nothing whatsoever while having the tooth pulled. It will most likely swell the side of your face, but if you keep an ice pack on it (or something frozen, if you don't have one) the swelling will go down pretty quickly (10-20 min each hour).

Good luck hun!
